A standout amongst the most famous Express Entry-adjusted Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) streams for Immigration to Canada, Ontario's Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream, is currently accepting applications. The OINP hopes to issue new Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to qualified competitors in the Express Entry pool before the finish of 2017.

Almost one million new Immigrants will settle in Canada in the years of 2018 and 2020, under what Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen has named "the most aspiring movement levels in late Canadian history."
The aggressive target has been set in the administration's new multi-year Immigration Levels Plan, which was tabled in the House of Commons on November 1.

Many international graduates from publicly-funded universities in Ontario now have a further option for permanent immigration. The International Student — Masters Graduate and International Student — PhD Graduate streams of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) reopened on February 21, 2017. This is the first time these two streams have opened since a temporary pause took effect on May 9, 2016.
Faster processing times for spouses and partners.
On December 7, 2016, the Government announced that most spousal sponsorship applications will be processed within 12 months from the day they are received by IRCC. This represents a significant decrease from the 26-month processing time in 2016. IRCC will finish processing the majority of applications currently in the system by the end of December 2017.
